The SIAR robot succeeded to demonstrate its capabilities in terms of locomotion, communications, navigation and perception during the evaluation experiments of Phase II. This allowed the team to proceed to Phase III of the development process.

On May 25 a team of the TV show “EnRed”, from the regional public broadcasting station RTVA (with an average audience of 500.000 persons), made a report about SIAR. The SIAR team went to Barcelona for some on-site experiments with the 1st prototype solution. Performed experiments: Evaluation of the performance of the prototype kinematics in the sewer system; Evaluation of the communications between the robot and the control console; Collection of data with the installed RGBD cameras.
